Shilpik – ring-like structured building – is located on the highway Nukus-Biruni, 43 km. from Nukus to the South, on the right bank of the Amudarya river, on top of a conical hill of 35 - 40 meters.
In terms of form it is a non-closed circle with a diameter of about 65 - 79 meters. The walls reach a height of 15 meters.
It was erected in 2nd – 4th centuries A.D. and used as a Zoroastrian temple “dakhma” (“a Tower of Silence”).
In 9th -11th centuries it was used by neighborhood residents as a signal tower.
